I've never seen one of these mentioned on here:
Canberra 9100K (eBay) $60 + shipping (BIN) (http://www.ebay.com/itm/CANBERRA-9100K-VINTAGE-KEYBOARD-INPUT-bb/361230282588)
It's pretty, has an odd layout (dig those horizontal arrow keys), and I know how much you guys like
Selectric-style keys.
-
Arrow keys like that were quite common before the inverted T arrow cluster became the standard...just look at VIM's HJKL movement keys.
The multicolor keys are interesting on this board. I wonder what their intended purpose was.

Anyone know what switches are in this?
-
It should have Stackpole or Hi-Tek Linear switches (http://deskthority.net/wiki/Hi-Tek_linear), at least from what I've seen.
-
I mentioned this to Dorkvader, and he said: "Canberra kbs get posted on ebay all the time. I believe they are keytronic foam and foil... The caps are so beautiful but the switches are so disappointing."
Oh well—I'd rather bring stuff to your attention that just seems interesting than take a chance you might miss something truly important.
Wouldn't it be nice if those pretty caps were usable on a good KB? :?)

For a moment my heart fluttered as I hoped it was hall effect. :(

That must be the "hall effect effect" I've heard about.

spacebar is completely different. You need to train yourself in the ways of HE.
Anyway these are common enough that I've looked into them before.
The issue with keytronic is that they are similar keycaps to hall effect. Even the "bent spacebar" can be the same (my wang terminal KB taught me that). The most notable marks can be the shapes of keycaps larger than 1x which while don't necessarily identify this as KT, do necessarily identify it as "not-HE" (and therefore of little import :p )

And there you have it!
I'm sure everyone will agree, it's better to investigate these things thoroughly than to wonder about them... Besides, what else were we doing? :?)
