Does your keyboard affect your mood?
Do you change keyboards depending on the type of mood you are in?

I would say that my mood determines my keyboard. If I'm feeling energetic, I'll use my 55g Realforce. If I'm relaxed or tired I'll use my variable. If I don'tffeel like using either, I'll reach for my HHKB.

I am always in an Egdx mood..
I've never been compelled to use a different keyboard, EVER..
We share an unbreakable bond..

For me, a keyboard can affect my motivation when writing. If I like the feel, I tend to want to write and to write for longer sessions.

Can't use my RF 55g if it's late at night, but it's great at work when I'm typing fast and pressing hard.
Ghost Blacks are terrible to use at work but great for when I'm relaxed.
Blue ALPS and Buckling Spring I can pretty much always use, as long as no one else is around.

+1
Especially when you really get into the zone and just crank out line after line without interruption

without interruption
I've come to realize there is no such thing in my life at the moment, which means at work I try and use a semi-normal keyboard and at home rarely use anything but my phone.

I just go through phases.
For up to a week or a month, I'll just want to use one keyboard and one switch nonstop but then I'll get bored and need to change to something else.

Getting bored is my problem. I always want to try something else.

I'd say Ray and the1onewolf succinctly stated "it"; and there in lies the rub for many of us. Indeed, I find that I look for difference in keyboard feel because of, wait for it, boredom. And when I can stem the boredom, my motivation rises. My level of motivation forms something of a sine wave with respect to KBs. This evening I began writing with my MX Red board, this after using the 55g Topres for hours today; and reds make, for me, a healthy change in feel after using a heavier switch. With respect to MX switches, I prefer linear to tactile switches; but I find the MX Blacks can be a bit too much at day's end. If only the MX Blue were linear rather than tactile...

I also like toggling from red to green, the switch always boosts my mood (the switch switch that is)
Have to replace the spacebar switch with a black one on my red board tho, repeating spaces are mood breakers

Yeah I tend to dig using my computer a lot more when I'm typing on my keyboard. Knowing I'm going to dig my experience that much more makes me more excited to get out there digitally. I feel less weird lurking and replying in threads (here and other Mk places) and whatnot when I'm on it. Good feels all the way.
