Some might have seen this before by bazh. We plan to make a groupbuy for this but got some issues with our base, since it too small to run the CNC machine stable.
So we moved our base to a bigger place and resetup everything again. After that we were too busy with our modding order, water cooling stuff... so we couldnt make a gb.
And now, the time has finally comeeeeeeeeeeeee :-* , our CNC finally have a free time in our schedule.
Before i run the GB, i want to make sure everything is right for both u and us so i start this IC to check how many of u interest in this boy,
since we only have time for 10 pieces (maybe more in the future if this GB go well)
Spec:
This made from full block acrylic, the specfication will be updated but to be clear, i will compare its size with a poker.
The surface will be sandblasted, make it sexier and hard to notice the scratches if u accidently make one :cool:
If u want to make it glow, just put some LED smd under the PCB. We can provide the SMD if u want with a very cheap price. We will also show u how to do, quite easy imo ;D

I heard you could have your own custom measurements when order, in that case just tell them to do a flat case one, would be no problems at all if the custom thing was real

Ive been waiting for a full profile case, and really like my acrylic TEX case for its 'chameleon' effect of blending with whichever surface I place my keyboard onto.
What I would like to see (if possible) is the most minimal of cases, very much like the original poker case, but in clear.
so
1) Minimal height and,
2) Minimal wall thickness (3mm?)
(which seems to be what a number of people have also requested?)
I'm certainly interested if this is possible. If its as tall as it is now, that would be a deal breaker for me :(

Are you sure? I can get a similarly-sized aluminum case for cheaper in China, and I'm pretty sure aluminum is more expensive than acrylic.

I guess the biggest cost involved with these types of cases would be the machining and finishing of the product, the raw materials won't influence very much the price if bought in bulk which I think OP might be doing, or OPs manufacturer.
Having said this i wouldn't doubt you could find it for cheaper in China.

Ah right, machining costs do add up, especially depending on where you're at. China has the advantages of both bulk manufacturing and low pay to keep products relatively cheap.
If i can afford to product 1000 pieces, im sure the price would be much cheaper :D
I dont have the Taobao case here to compare, but i think that the choice of buying is depend on u
