Title: Hello from Washington State, USA (down the road from Signature Plastics)
Post by: PMKFTW on Tue, 24 March 2015, 14:42:29
Hey all! I'm really new to the mechanical keyboard community, but I must say, ya'll are HARDCORE enthusiasts! It's awesome. I'm currently typing this on a Quick Fire Rapid CM Storm with MX Blues. It's my first mechanical keyboard experience and now I get it.  :thumb:. Anyway, I'm also working with Signature Plastics (Pimp My Keyboard) to help promote their group buys. We'll be helping SP/PMK launch a contest (group buy key set giveaway) in the near future. We're looking for a couple of mechanical keyboard 'gurus' to help us spread the word about the giveaway. Would anyone be able to introduce me to a Geek Hack rockstar who might be interested in helping with the promotion? We're specifically looking for someone with an active a large blog following to help spread the word. If the "blogger" helps us tip the upcoming group buy, there will be a free key for said blogger.

(Dumb) Question: Is a stock HHKB compatible with Signature Plastic keys? Do they fit on Torpe switches or just MK switches?

Also - Any LOL players on here - whatup?! I've reached level 30 with Yi and Yi only... Yes, I'm that guy. Haha!

Cheers,

PMKFTW

Welcome to Geekhack!

There are a few bloggers around here, but I won't call anyone out.  As this is related to SP, you might create a new thread in their vendor forum (https://geekhack.org/index.php?board=159.0) to ask as not as many people seem to browse the new members area.

HHKB Pro 2 is a Topre keyboard - SP does not make Topre keycaps so no, they are not compatible.  SP makes only MX keycaps (and a few other non-Topre types, like MY and ML).

"Official" LOL thread (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=44148.0), for your reading pleasure :)

Welcome! If you buy a novatouch and an HHKB I think you can swap the sliders from the novatouch to the HHKB. I don't know if the modifiers require any modification. Then you can use MX keysets on the HHKB.

That's a way of doing it, but you have to sacrifice a Novatouch in the process :p

Seems like a lot of work and expensive way to create a HHKB Frankenboard from the Novatouch. ;D Good to know though. Thanks for the info.

I'll definitely create a new thread in the vendors forum - great suggestion!

The LOL link is a...mazing! Thanks for sharing!!
