So I've been thinking about going to PH to visit a friend but I'm not sure where to begin on how to do that. Likewise my friend may want to visit me in the US, but I heard it's much harder to get out of PH than to go in?

that depends, if he has $400,000 usd.. he could buy a house, and come under investor status.

If you're a US Citizen, there is no visa required but you only have 30 days to stay.
Usual flights are Delta if flying out of east coast. I don't know much in the west coast.

Wrong. It is a lot more costly as well as harder to go from the PH to the US due to the difficulty in obtaining a visa.

It would normally be Delta Airlines from W/E port you are in with a transfer flight to Nagoya Japan then off to PH for the final stop.

Yes I figured it was harder to get out of PH. I have noticed some flights stop at Japan first but I have also seen tickets that go for more when going to Japan. I wonder if I can just not get on the plane after I land in Japan for a visit ^-^
What about them visiting the US? Is it that much of a nightmare? We are just talking about a visit.

They still need to be granted a US tourist's visa which allows them to be visitors here for a limited amount of time. Visa's aren't easy to get in the PH because they tend to be costly and you can be denied even after paying the application fee by whoever is conducting your interview not to mention the conversion rate from PHP to USD isn't great. An average Filipino worker there earns about 300-600php and 45php = 1 usd There is also a very thin line between the upper class and lower class that would be considered middle class so if your friend is thinking of visiting, I am assuming he is in the upper class within the country so perhaps these issues will not affect him at all.

They are considered middle class. They are in Pakistan now (assume work visa?) but will be back in PH in June. I think the process is a little confusing to me on how to go through the process. Thanks for insight :)

The easiest way is for you to fly to the Philippines. Get US passport if you don't have one yet then book a flight that is not more than $1800. Get a flight where theres only atleast 3 layovers.

Sounds like it's going to be a lot easier me going there but my friend want to see "how America is" I've actually heard from someone it takes over a year for the paperwork :x
