Ooooooh, nice.
So what, they are RGB LEDs but with 3 per switch?

Yes. But I don't know more about it. I think it come from China.

Nicely done. I wonder how color control (the most difficult thing to design on a RGB board, at least if you want to take full advantage of the possibilities) is implemented .

I'm going to take a stab and say that my guess is that they are 3 dual colour LEDs that work in tandem to act as a RGB LED. Or would that just make a weird mix of colours? Or can you buy RGB LEDs easily? Yeah... I have no idea.

Sure, it's easy to buy RGB LEDs of pretty much all sizes (except of course the 3 mm kind that we use with MX switches). And those definitely look like three separate RGB LEDs. What is impressive here is how they managed to cram three of them on the top of the switch housing. But then again, if there is no way to control their color easily, the hardest part of the job is still to be done ;D

Oh I see. That makes sense, sounds scary though. I don't think I'd be able to program a keyboard to a functional level, let alone a board full of RGB LEDs

I thought that initially. But then when you look at some of the last shots with different colours, you can clearly see that the bottom LED is purple rather than Red Yellow or Blue.
