Hey everyone, just had a question and wanted to see if I could get some advice.
I'm used to using my V60 60% board with aluminum case which adds a good amount of weight, but I'm much more productive with the 75% Race 2 layout (not the standard TKL). However, the Race 2 is way too light and I can't seem to find a metal or aluminum case for it.
I was wondering if anyone has any info on adding some weights to make a keyboard a little more hefty? I'm not sure what materials can give the most weight with the least amount of space needed.

You could buy wheel weights (like for car wheels). They are already measured, readily available, and you can get them with an adhesive backing.

I've read that people have used fishing line weights in the past? I didn't know that was a thing though so I'm not 100% sure.

If you want to add actual blocks of metal (one of my boards actually came like that out of the factory) I'd advise you so put it as low and as much in the middle as possible, or you'll get a weirdly balanced board. Having it in the top left that Focus (which I could swear is a Dell AT101W Oo ) probably feels kinda strange.

Actually never heard of that product before. Is it something you would get at a sporting goods store locally?
Thanks for all of the replies! I'd really like to go the lead route, but I'm not the most handy with working with raw materials and don't have the tools to do the melting personally.

Yeah, you should be able to find it in some sort of sporting goods store, it's pretty common. The tape is maybe 1/4" wide and a few inches can add some decent weight

There is lead putty, kids use it for pinewood derby cars.

eassiest/cheapest/best.
Modeling clay and metal weights, they both add weight, and the clay adds a really nice stability effect. helps distribute the weight, and holds whatever metal bits you're using for weight.
Clay is also really dense by itself, and you can squish it into any case.
My clay filled CM-XT transformed the way that keyboard felt.

I really like the idea of putty/clay as I would be able to mold it to the conform to the inside of the case. I wish I could find some metal weights that would fit, but everything thing I've found has been an odd shape that won't fit into the case with some modifications.
As for the putty and clay, would there be any adverse effects of those materials coming in contact with the PCB? I'd try to keep them separated, but I'm sure they would touch at some point.

i've had 2 keyboards weighted like that for over a year with no problems.
Though I also added a layer of wax paper between the pcb and the clay.

Half a gram in 4 inches? That's nothing.
You need to add tens of grams to a keyboard to get any serious help, don't you?
