The configurator for the original Infinity still doesn't work months after the drop.  If you are going to join in this GB you should make sure you are okay with the default layout or are comfortable compiling your own binaries using KLL (https://github.com/kiibohd/kll).

New pcb, new controller, new interface but same layout from what I can see.

It uses different microcontroller. In fact, there is a microcontroller for each hand, so they can be used independently.
It also supports MX or Alps switches.
