Title: Hello from San Francisco and a Massdrop Designer
Post by: bro on Thu, 02 April 2015, 16:04:00
Hello!

I'm the designer over at Massdrop and new to mechanical keyboards. My first keyboard was a WASD when I joined Massdrop about 6 months ago and now I'm on a Leopold 66key that I love.

I joined geekhack because everyone at Massdrop is obviously huge into mechanical keyboards and I want to be able to better understand the Keyboard enthusiast community.

Cheers!
-Erik

Sorry, I should have clarified.

Right now I'm the sole Massdrop designer  :D  so I do a little of everything.  Main focus is on the website.

Your website might get more popular if the whole thing wasn't behind a login wall.

Just sayin'

They have to use the login wall to get past MSRP requirements.. There are ways to get around it though, just add ?mode=guest_open to the end of a massdrop url

Welcome! I'm surprised the keyboard guys over at Massdrop haven't found their way over here yet! Glad to have you on board, did you join up for the GMK buy you guys are hosting??  :thumb:

Hope to see you around the forum!  ;D

Thanks for the welcome!

I didn't join the GMK drop, but it sure is blowing up. Like I said in my intro, I'm still new to the keyboard community, so I'm going to try a lot of keyboards and do my research before I make any big purchases.  I know our guys were really excited about that drop.

Big purchases? Yeah, I guess I would have thought spending $100 on keycaps was a big deal when I first got into Mechanical Keyboards. Wait until you see how deep the rabbit hole really goes......

Oh and hey, welcome aboard!

Welcome to Geekhack!

I've heard a lot about Massdrop and their (your) keyboard-related buys.  Great stuff you're doing - you seem to get a lot of interesting things through, and I only wish I had more money to spend :))

Your colleague doesn't seem to have posted much.  One thing that goes down very well indeed is interaction with the community.  If you are able to post and respond to queries, you'll be surprised how much more response you'll get :)

Welcome! I frequent the site on a regular basis. Great job. Your categories has grown exponentially.

We have tons of topre HHKB owners. SP keycaps and accessories welcomed.

Just wanted to drop a quick thank you to all of you for the warm welcome one more time.

As the sole designer at Massdrop right now, things are pretty crazy for me.  I'm not sure how often I'll stop by geekhack, but I do plan to try to come by as much as possible and continue learning about Mech Keyboards for myself and hopefully that will allow me to make a better experience for you all that use Massdrop.

Cheers,
Erik
