Hello everybody, it's a first time I've opened a thread in here, so pardon me. :)
I've been messing around with mechanical keyboards not so long ago, around 2 years. It has been a great journey, and right now I'm temporarily taking a break with my RF 87u 55g atm ;). I don't have that much knowledge about keyboards like a lot of people in here , but I'm willing to learn new things from everybody.
My question is: Is Topre supposed to bottom out? I have been tried so hard to get used to its tactility, and so far, I haven't progressed much :(. How long does it take you guys to get used to it (AKA not to bottom out very much)?
Before I owned a MX Clear, and man, it's heavy but it really helps you prevent from that. I haven't had a chance to try Ergo Clears yet, probably in the future.
Thanks for reading my topic, and hello again! :D

It is very difficult not to bottom out on Topre, and there's nothing wrong with bottoming out.

Topre is supposed to be bottomed out. The design of the switch practically necessitates bottoming out.

Welcome to Geekhack!
I bottom out all the time on Topre, and on every other switch I type on.
Nothing wrong with that at all!
There's also a few threads on that subject already:

55g are snappy and fun, but for me HHKB 45g is where it's at. If I have to bottom out, I prefer lighter switches and plastic housing; less fatigue and softer bounce.
Due to the nature of topre's actuation force, it falls easily after the friction point. Making bottom out easy. You can try lubing the switch for a more smoother feel to see if it would help. I personally say, just bottom out.

Hello and welcome to GH! Don't hesitate to press your keys! Bottom those these out if you need to.
I bottom out all the time, and I love heavy switches like MX Blacks. I may want to get a Topre board in the future though.
Glad to have you here and don't be afraid to message anyone of us. We are very knowledgeable and welcoming.
