Post by: spwath on Sun, 05 April 2015, 13:42:45
Hi, im new here.
I dont know too much about keyboards, but i know i love my Apple Adjustable Keyboard, and i know it is having some problems.
I managed to get it for free, on craigslist.
But now the q and j are dying, sometimes not working, sometimes making double or tripple presses.

Thats is.
Hi!

Welcome to Geekhack!

I'd wonder whether the switches are failing, especially if the keyboard has had a hard life, or has been introduced to liquid in those areas.

Otherwise it could be an old and infirm solder joint, which should be repairable.

I'd suggest you post in the keyboard (https://geekhack.org/index.php?board=31.0) section, with pictures if you can (someone is bound to ask for a picture of the PCB) as not everyone browses the new members section.

OK thanks.

I hope it's just the solder joint.

I do believe the keyboard was new when I got it, or at least very great condition, very clean.
