Title: Filco's product codes?
Post by: spremino on Tue, 08 September 2009, 13:25:08
Hello,

I'm going to buy a couple of Filco japanese keyboards, but reading descriptions on Diatec's japanes site is out of reach for me. Since I'm interested in Tenkeyless version, which has 91 keys, as far as I can tell, keyboards are named like this:

FKBN91M -> Brown cherries
FKBN91MC -> Blue cherries (not available anymore?)

The N means N-key rollover.

The suffix:
/JB -> with Japanese glyphs
/NB -> no Japanese glyphs
/EB -> ???

Moreover, I'd like to know whether blank keycaps (Otaku) versions have special codes. Do Diatec resellers have blank keys set or should I look for third party (japanese) vendors? If so, I've looked at keycapsdirect.com, but I don't know which family I should ask for:

Another question: I'd like to mount keycaps a bit flatter than original ones. Is that possible?

Thank you very much.

If you mean lower in height then yes.

I mean less hollow, like the AEKII ones:

Why are you buying them from Japan? Are they cheaper? Is this something I should know about?
