Hey everyone, I literally stumbled across geekhack through a google search, trying to figure out why my new Rosewill RK-9200 felt squishier on my wide keys than my Das Keyboard.

I muck about a lot with electronics and soldering, so of course the idea of building my own keyboard is really intriguing to me. Now I'm planning my ideal layout and trying to get some friends on board to buy a few so I can build a bunch at once and save some money.

This place seems like a great resource, and looks like there's plenty of people willing to ship up to Canada too which is very nice. Looking forward to being a part here!

I came here wanting to make on own board. And instead I've purchased a crap ton of boards/kits.

Welcome to Geekhack!

Is the answer to your question that the Rosewill has Cherry stabilisers whereas the Das has Costar?  Cherry stabs are usually mushier, although apparently you can clip them, but my Ducky Shine 3 allegedly has pre-clipped stabilisers and feels the same as my Shine 1.
