Title: KUL key caps- what profile?
Post by: jamster on Sun, 12 April 2015, 22:10:36
From reading reviews, I had thought that KUL ES-87 came with OEM profile caps.

However, I have a single original KUL key (backslash) remaining on the keyboard, with the rest replaced with a Tai Hao set (OEM, unless I am confused), and the KUL backslash is lower profile.

So is KUL Cherry profile, or something else?

Should be OEM, though that can obviously vary between manufacturers

Oh, that's interesting. I had assumed that OEM profile was some kind of industry standard, rather than "whatever the manufacturer feels like". Which would mean that OEM caps are not necessarily compatible between manufacturers.

Huh.

I can let you know in a day or two. I ordered a set from WASD in the stock profile.

Caps just showed up from WASD. Will compare them with the KUL caps when I get home from work.(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04/13/df9beea547898890b421867c879fe460.jpg)

The WASD caps are a couple mil taller than the stock caps. After putting them on I don't notice it. It looks and feels good. (http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04/14/c4731d570baf442acbaf0717971cb507.jpg)
