I have a huge pile of stuff in classifieds -- not crap, decent boards and caps -- and I'm just not having any luck moving it. No bites, not even any real offers. Basically just a few people testing the waters and never following through.
Seems like it's been getting worse for the last few months. Things actually sold last year, but not this year. Anybody noticing this or is it just me? Maybe everybody's money is tied up in GBs?

I've definitely noticed this as well. It feels like part of it is due to all the cap trades people are wanting making it a little more difficult to find the good stuff. Part of it is also that there's a lot of price inflation going on with some ridiculous prices on some stuff by some people.
If someone was able to make a trade database where you could list stuff, see what was up for trade, and make offers to people, classifieds would be so much better.

I agree, not saying that I have been around long enough to notice a major difference, but it's hard to sell my stuff on here, and can never find what I am looking for. Even since January it has slowed down

I've been thinking about this for a long time, I'd love to build a system where people can list pictures of all the items they want to sell and have each item be searchable. Make it so that items that haven't been bumped in a week get removed and that would keep things fairly up to date. Seems like it could make multi-way trades a lot easier too.

do you mean inactive or stupid because i can go for both

Just put it on eBay and link it at r/mechmarket

I would help but noobs have to wait two months to post!

Is the stuff you're selling more obscure?
I had 1-2 months of quiet for all my stuff but then I suddenly had an influx of serious offers and demand.
Sometimes taking the hit on ebay is just easier.
Personally, I find that most of classified threads are not good and realistic prices for used products and too much scalping is going on.
It also doesn't help that you have so many people drooling over clacks, bumping those threads with their envy and stupid GLWS and you also had to deal with a flood of inappropriate april fools jokes posts which hurt serious sellers.

You can PM though.

From my point of view, the classifieds are 75% WTB 15% WTS and 10% WTT, of the stuff for sale or trade, most is caps.
Those aren't real numbers...just what is seems like.

I honestly feel like WTT/WTB threads should allow less bumping. Every 24 hours is excessive.
Or the WTB/WTT threads should be moved to a different sub-forum, I've seen it done on tons of other forums once the traffic has gotten too much.

No one's selling. Everyone's hording.

My recent luck with selling stuff on classifieds has been really good.

Serious buyers are on ebay.
Geekhackers are ferocious bargain-hunters.

People love getting a bargain, but there's a lot of overpriced crap in the classifieds. Just because it's listed at a certain price on here or eBay doesn't mean that's what it's worth.

I hate to say it but when I sold all my poker stuff I had it up here for a few days with nothing and the day I linked it on mechmarket it sold.

From when I joined till now there has been a definite slow down. I kinda gave up on even looking for certain caps because there really wasn't a snowballs chance in hell I'd find half of them.
Edit: I also am really content with the caps I have won through sales. That's a big point as well.
