Title: How to fix "mushy" buckling spring keys
Post by: SpacePotatoBear on Thu, 23 April 2015, 21:27:06
So I got a Model M how ever the C key and num pad 1 have a mushy feel and don't make a clicking sound, they still work how ever.

I feel like this is the spring wearing or could be dirt in the switch?

how would I go about fixing this - without bolt modding it

You can fix it by bolt modding it ;D

Although you could try reseating the cap. Sometimes it doesn't go on properly.
You need to make sure the cap is seated correctly or it will do that.

You likely just have misseated springs.

Pull those keys, tilt the keyboard forward so the spring tilts forward in the barrel, and reseat the keys.
