So I picked up a free old but I think new Dell Quietkey SK-8000 PS/2 keyboard but it doesn't seem to be working. The only key that does anything is the num lock key which turns the LED on. Other than that it doesnt seem to be working. I inspected the keyboard controller and it seems fine. Any suggestions? Drivers? Thanks

Do you have a single PS/2 port or one for keyboard and one for mouse, or are you using a USB adaptor?
Some keyboards don't like shared ports or standard USB adaptors, I have no idea if this board is one of them but more info is always a good thing :)

My motherboard has 2 PS/2 ports, one for mouse and other for kb. Currently it is connected to the PS/2.

Did you try reboot? You can't hot plug PS/2.
