Do you ever feel sad when you are selling or trading a keyboard? Or do you feel remorse? Or do you see it as an opportunity for another keyboard and look to the future?
-
Personally, nope, I have never felt any feelings or regret whenever I sell anything that deals with keyboards, even though I think I would.
-
I usually feel pretty good.
When I sell a keyboard it is to make (back) some money and clear out the clutter. If I sell it at break-even, at least I have opened up some (literal and financial) space. A profit is good and a loss is bad, but, either way, I am moving on.
There have only been a couple of occasions when I regretted selling one right away (and once I made a profit and replaced it quickly for cheap) but several occasions when the price went up significantly after a year or 2 and I wished that I had waited.
-
Great but then I start looking for things to buy :(
-
Usually regret because I almost always lose money.
-
I've only felt regret with 1 board. All the others, I've felt fairly good about selling since I no longer needed them.
-
Never regret selling one until last week
Someone wanna buy my first keyboard which I modded to my favorite switch and have aluminium case (filco), I packaged it and ready to ship it but than I was too afraid I'm gonna regret it
Luckily the seller not even 100% sure to buy due to the price, so both of us backed out lol

How would you feel if you adopted a child, and then returned him to the orphanage.
Yea.. That's how your keyboard feels...
You monsters !!

I felt a little sad when I sold my very first mech board (Filco Yellow Edition) but it's in a better home now where it will see renewed usage and love.
-
doesn't have much feeling...except the time I sold my mx5000
-
Huh. I haven't actually sold a board yet.
-
I've sold all my boards for profit back before I even used reddit but I regret selling the Filco TKL that I got for $40 although I sold it for like $90+ I still would rather have kept it.
Oh well, I got a GON TKL now lol

Relief. When it's out the door, I never regret it. They are just objects. They mEan little in the grand scheme of things.

I've been thinking about selling my ErgoDox and was wondering if I would miss it. It was my first mechanical keyboard and the first one I built. Without it, who am I?
-
Ive never sold a keyboard, one I traded away and two Ive given away. But I had its replacement when I did it so no love lost

I sold my KBP v60 on r/mechmarket a couple months ago.
Kind of wish I sold the Poker 2 instead, the v60 had spunk. And terrible keycaps..but I miss the dual red/green LED (and it doesn't seem to be available anymore either). Once I get my Granite set and an aluminum case...yeah. It'll hit me then :(
