Hi everyone! Is there a way to change my name from "merrysnail" to either "0o0o" or "o0o0"? Help would be appreciated, and sorry if this is silly of me.

I believe you can change your nick by messaging a mod, but I don't remember ever seeing something to do so in the profile settings.

Thank you, I'm pretty new here, so could you please link me to a mods page?

Welcome to Geekhack!
Name changes generally don't happen, but if you're nice enough to the mods (Hoff in particular) you'll find that he'll bend over backwards to help you :)
Assuming you didn't just join to pick the wrong username, what keyboard have you got, or are you planning to get?
-
Haha, I'll try to be nice :) I havn't actually bought a mechanical keyboard, but I've written on one, and it was pure finger magic. I really like the design of all the Poker keyboards, as well as the Ergodox (although I don't think I will ever be able to write on one :P). Another idea I've got (or a long term goal) is to build a keyboard my self, from scratch. But as I said it'll probably be a while, and I think I will do something smaller to train my soldering skills.

Building from a kit? or designing one from scratch?
The former can be accomplished fairly readily - kits are available with varying degrees of components included and/or already installed.
Designing from scratch is another game altogether!
-
Both would be fun to do, but I think I might start with a kit, I'm not a welding/designer pro :P Do you have any tips for a good starter kit?
-
No welding required :p
There were a couple of "learning to solder" kits from geekhackers.org (https://geekhack.org/index.php?board=164.0), but none at the moment that I know of. That would have been the best kit, put together by Geekhackers for Geekhackers.
Maybe there will be another one soon.
