Hey all,
I've been lurking for a while but finally created an account.
I've been typing mainly on a PS/2 corded HHKB lite for the past 15 years, but it's started to get a bit flakey so I've been doing some research. Now I have an Ambra labelled '93 Lexmark Model M on order and I'm looking at a used USB Unicomp as well. I also have a teensy 2.0 and PS/2 female adapter to build a USB converter with TMK or Soarers, so I'm planning to have some fun with that.
We'll see how things go, but if I get the chance, I may try to just replace the keys on my HHKB with cherry mxs (with a customer matrix and controller, whee!) once I have a replacement keyboard that's working...
Looking forward to learning lots here!

Welcome to Geekhack!
Model M is a bit of a jump from an HHKB (Lite, too)! Have you thought about looking for an original Model M, rather than a more recent Unicomp?
