Title: Pok3r springs
Post by: bcredbottle on Thu, 14 May 2015, 16:14:15
I know that on some boards you can pop off the housing on MX switches and replace the springs without desoldering or even removing the case. Is that true for the Pok3r? I haven't had much luck with it.

I don't have one, but I don't believe so.

To be able to take the top off of the switch with it still soldered to the motherboard requires special notches in the plate. All of the Vortex plates I've seen don't have this notch.

Edit: GeekHackers is running a group buy for Titanium Plates (http://www.geekhackers.org/collections/keyboard-accessories/products/60-keyboard-titanium-switch-plates-with-notches-for-switch-disassembly) that shows a picture of the notches.
