I'm building a duck octagon with gateron switches, and i've realised that the stabilisers i've bought are PCB-mounted stabilisers, when the switches are mounted to the octagon's plate
is it possible for me to use these stabilisers, or should i try to find somewhere to buy plate-mounted stabs?

If you have holes in the PCB to fit the stabilisers into you can use them, the switches and stabilisers are the same height whether plate or PCB mounted :)

oh ok, though the spacebar seems a bit wobbly, not exactly stabilised

Duck octagon only supports PCB mount stabilisers, like most Korean boards. You got the right ones.

okay cool, though the space bar does not seem stabilised

Is the stabiliser wire the right size for your spacebar? When the stabiliser is assembled do the stems match up with the holes of your spacebar?

yeah it's a 6.25 spacebar and 6.25 stabiliser

Then there is something that is not sitting right. Where is it loose?
The stabiliser should consist of two slider parts, two base parts and a metal wire. The wire should be snapped to each base part and have its ends inside a square hole in the side of each slider. It is a bit fiddly.
Each slider should fit into a cross-shaped hole at the bottom of the space bar.

Could you take a picture of it maybe?

i'm not really sure how i could show the issue in a picture, i think i'm assembling the stabs wrong, i just can't seem to figure it out

ah, i had the metal wire underneath the slider, not in the square part
it seems when i try to put the wire into the square part of the slider, it can't go far enough in to snap to the base part
