Dear GH,
Can someone point me to something on Gateron Browns? I've read that they're a mix between MX Browns and MX Clears and I checked out some vids on YT, but not much coming up.
Thanks,
AoP

GB on Gateron switches that includes links to reviews on the OP.

6/8 update: Still haven't found any in-depth specific reviews on Gateron Browns.

Maybe put a request up in the review section? (not really sure how else you'd go about requesting one).

The Gateron KS-3 Brown is very much like a Cherry MX Brown. Maybe more like a Kailh Brown/Razer Orange because it actuates a fraction of a millimetre earlier in the stroke.
It is only slightly more tactile than a new Cherry MX brown, but I think that has mostly to do with the leaf spring in the Gateron switches being slightly harder than the leaf springs in the Cherry MX switches.
I swapped the sliders between a vintage Cherry MX brown and a Gateron Brown and the two switches then felt so similar that I could not tell them apart by feel.
It still needs to have a larger bump and a stiffer spring to feel remotely like a Cherry MX Clear.

Thanks Findecanor!
Can you comment on the relative "smoothness" of Gateron browns? It seems like a more applicable question to linear switches, but I was wondering if it had any impact for the tactiles.

Smoother than new Cherry MX, less smooth than vintage or worn-in Cherry MX. However, the Brown's force curve isn't supposed to be too smooth - it is an bump in in an otherwise linear resistance curve.
