Title: I can feel the danger...
Post by: amandah on Sat, 23 May 2015, 00:25:28
Hi there!

I've been dilly-dallying on buying a mech keyboard for a while now bcuz I couldn't find the exact colors that I wanted for my "dream keyboard". I also couldn't really decide on a "dream keyboard" cuz I have way toooooo many of them....

I just saw the GB for the purple & white JT keycaps.... and then there were those pesky GMK CMYW keycaps that I saw on Originative the same week (which I had made a promise to myself back in the day that if I ever come across any GMK CMYK or CMYW keycaps, I'm getting a kb, stat). I pretty much took this as a sign from the keyboard gods and bought the GMK CMYWs and purple/white JT keycaps and a WASD Code ten-keyless w/ Clear switches -- all on the same day.

Annnnnd I was also REALLLLLY itching to get those sweet SA Retro keycaps in burgundy/brown. But thought 3 keysets without a keyboard miiiight be pushing it. :) I'm kinda hoping the gb ends without me noticing... but not much luck so far....

Up next I really want a set of Olivetti keycaps... on a GON Mini MX w/ Green switches. I'm finding that a bit difficult to find around here...

Sorry wallet.

:)

Welcome to Geekhack!

This can quickly become an expensive hobby, as you are finding out :p

But just tell yourself that you'd kick yourself if you didn't get keyset X, and then buy it anyway, then kick yourself for spending so much money.

Swapping keysets can actually make a difference to the way a keyboard feels - depending on the type of plastic and thickness of the keycaps, so perhaps you can use that as feeble justification for acquiring a few sets ;)
