Title: I want to be buried with my Model M keyboards

I've been using a Type M keyboard since time immemorial. They seem to last for an average of 10 years. What dies is either the trackpoint (yes, I have *that* variant!) or the cable (the rubber coating gets brittle, frays, and then some accident happens to the exposed wires). Or they get stolen, or someone pours some liquid on them.


What brought me to this forum (which I didn't know existed) was a search for a configurable PS2-to-USB adaptor, which came up with tmk_keyboard, which led to this site.


I'm a software engineer by vocation, with particular interests in large systems (so, naturally, also networks and security). I own an Ultimaker2, and if I had space in my Manhattan apartment I'd also have a tabletop mill. Non-technical interests include books, Bach, books, opera, books, cooking, books, gaming, did I mention books?

Welcome to Geekhack!

Your own 3 printer - nice :)  Have you tried printing any keycaps yet?

Also is there a maker space near you?  They might have a tabletop mill, or an even bigger one.
