Title: Caps lock on 60% layout
Post by: awhitedev on Sun, 24 May 2015, 08:17:31
So I've been trying some different layouts recently on my newly built Sprit 60% board.

I'm using an HHKB-like layout but with some minor differences. Here's the board:

[attach=1]

So I was thinking... with a 7u spacebar and a tiny windows key on the bottom row it really prevents me from being able to use the win key that well. I remapped the caps lock key to the windows key instead and repurposed the two win keys for keys that I would frequently hit ctrl + alt with. (pause and print)

I actually use the win key quite a bit so this position seems to feel the best for me. I thought about switching it with control as so many people do and make control windows... but that didn't feel as good for me. If I get some time I'll come up with a layout / fn layer drawing and post here.

I'd love to get some of your thoughts on this.

Whatever works for you.

I, for one, would never need a capslock key, so your layout would work for me, too.
