Thinking I want to do CNC cut aluminum and could possibly do international shipping. This will be an independently run GB, and I will have my local machine shop producing these plates. I want to do bottom plates as well to compliment the top if there is enough demand. Any ideas would be great. I'm not sure on price yet but once the community decides the full layout i will design and send over to the shop to get an estimate.
Poll link for basic layout choice: http://strawpoll.me/4546792
will do another poll for the actual key layout once we get the general idea out of the way.
Edit: Another user suggested I do the plates out of steel for extra rigidity. Could possibly get them powder coated. Would like to also offer either acrylic mid section pieces or a formed bottom that would be cheaper than using a case. I'd probably make the top plate compatible with other cases as well so as to have options.

Good idea but Leandre already has an IC for this.

A little friendly competition could provide some interesting alternatives.

Yes, obviously. Anyway, I was just letting him know in case he didn't.

Leandre and vkeomala already discussed (http://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/38ns8m/interest_check_i_want_to_start_a_group_buy_for/crwfj5j) this together.

Quick update. I have an ansi tkl plate mocked up in solidworks will post shot of it later on tonight with matching backplate.

Maybe a silly question but why would anyone want a CNC'd plate in a standard layout when they can surely get a standard cut one for much cheaper?
Unless you're planning an awesome "plate" that's actually the top half of a case? Maybe I should have waited for the mock up...
