Title: [IC] Cherry MX to Lego Stem Adapters

This would have to be injection molded if it's going to be possible at all. Molds are pretty expensive so I'd have to sell at least enough to cover the cost of the mold which I estimate to be around $300 to $600. Pricing would be similar to O-Rings, $10 for 120, or $2 for 10. Length of the adapter is 5mm. Again, nothing is concrete obviously. Let me know what you guys think!

So this is a Lego to cherry mx adapter, that allows to mount flat lego pieces on a cherry switch? Because with anything different from a flat lego piece, the typing surface would be too high. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Could you make it so the stud was longer and have it still fit over the MX stem?

That way it wouldn't be raised so high if you put a brick on it.

OK I had some ideas:

First, you could make the whole thing as big as the inner diameter of a lego piece, that way a brick fits further down(but the walls are really thin at that point):

personally i would say keep the walls.
mainly because in the past i bought a cheep key cap that didn't have the walls on the stem,
and it seemed to wear out just from taking it on and off the key switch itself. so now its fairly UN-usable.
but depending on the materials it could be different.
who knows maybe i'm just rambling.

You could add a collar like this:

That way:

*the walls are all thick enough
*it keeps the brick from going too far down the stem
*it keeps the fins from expanding

Ripster has definitely been hyping these up. SentrantPC mentioned putting together an IC for these, which he is doing here, and I'm 3D printing a few to see how they work.

Did this ever go anywhere close to a group buy?

I was playing Lego with my kids and suddenly thought that a bunch of Lego Star Wars helmets would make great artisans. I'm sure a bunch of folks have thought about this, so I figured it's worth asking the community.

Could you coat the stem in a thin layer of super glue or something, as to increase it's thickness and make it fit better?
