Title: Hello World
Post by: Skedader on Fri, 05 June 2015, 22:40:25
Hello everyone,

I've owned a mechanical keyboard for a few years now but I'm only now just joining the cult getting interested in the community that revolves around it. Since I'm a novice to this kind of thing I'll defiantly be asking some questions.

Thanks for having me around,

Welcome to Geekhack!

Which keyboard have you got, and how has it stood the years of use you have made of it?

This is a rabbit hole - how far down it you want to fall is up to you, but the hole goes pretty deep ;)

I currently own two keyboards. I made a mistake the first time I ever bought a keyboard 5 years ago and went for the Saitek Eclipse II Illuminated Keyboard (non-mechanical). I got this one because it was the exact same one that a friend of mine owned. Two years ago I wised up a bit for my second keyboard when I built my first computer and got a mechanical. However I didn't really do enough research and ended up with the Corsair Vengeance K70 Gunmetal with Cherry MX Brown. Even though I've enjoyed the keyboard, I've been craving for something better. That and the fact that my younger brother has been using my old Saitek I've been researching for a new keyboard so I could give him the Vengeance as a hand-me-down. I currently have my eyes on the Max Blackbird and some Vortex Double Shot Backlit PBT keycaps.

Mark it down to experience - you'll probably end up trying at least a dozen keyboards before you find one you really like ;)
