Hey everyone, i'm new to purchasing replacement caps and am having a little bit of a hard time with my Keycool 84 being that some of the keys as you may know, are not of standard size. I know that PMK sells keycap sets, including modifier sets for specially sized keycaps, but I find searching for just the right ones to be somewhat overwhelming. Has anyone replaced keycaps for their Keycool 84 and could link me to exactly what I need to buy to get a complete keycap set for my board? I'm not picky about the replacement caps, I just want something high quality and minimalist (some gray blank caps would be great). I don't need anything that's transparent or anything like that. Anyone have some suggestions of what to pick up. Direct links would be greatly appreciated!
EDIT: Theres also that blank PBT keycap set on massdrop (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/blank-pbt-keycaps) that would be awesome to hop on if it is compatible, but not sure if it'd cover all the keys.
Thanks

Looks like the right shift 1.75x, right ctrl 1x, and right alt 1x are the only three non standard caps you will need to add to a normal TKL set.
PMK's keycap shop has a bunch of blanks in different profiles and sizes if you want to pick out custom colors.

Oh nice, thanks. So just two additional 1x and a 1.75x for the right shift? That sounds easy enough. So I could probably go with the blank set on Massdrop and just order a single 1.75x for the shift key (since the Massdrop set would have more 1x keys than I need)?

Yeah that sounds about right. Welcome to GH btw :)

Thank you! Looking forward to being a part of the boards.
Lastly, how are the G20 keycaps? Better in any way than the DSA PBT blanks or is purely preference? And anywhere to get vortex style keycaps (side printed)?

I've never owned or typed on a full set before so I can't say for sure. I do have a handful from SP's crapbag that I can give you for free if you want to test them out.

:-X that'd be excellent. I'll shoot you a PM!

The Gateron sets have everything you need for that board. Blank and single color will be easy. It gets a bit tougher if you want legend keys for that board... but not too hard if you go with Cherry. You can easily get most of what you need from a G80/G81 1800/7000 H**US keyboard, and the rest from a G80-8113 or 8200 H**US. Those very common boards and easy to find used (or even new occasionally) for under $25 much of the time in white on black doubleshot.

Appreciate it! I see a user is taking orders for Gateron sets here on the forums (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=72609.0). Would that do the job?

If you scroll down in that thread there's a layout with all the sizes included - I see a 1.75x Row 4 (shift) at the bottom and there are plenty of 1x Row 4s (arrows, period in number pad, alternate bottom row) so looks good to me, assuming this (http://www.kc-keycool.com/data/attachment/201207/20/aadc3de4c5da455daccdf928f851b11a.jpg) is the board in question :)

That's the board! Thanks for the assurance, I went ahead and submitted an order form to get in on that group buy. I'm one of the most indecisive people there is, but I went with light grey mods and beige alphas

So.. the group buy came through and I couldn't be more pleased with the results!
Thanks for the help
