Title: [NEWS] Cortana Key
Post by: Findecanor on Sat, 13 June 2015, 20:28:51
Windows10Update.com (http://www.windows10update.com/2015/06/toshiba-introduces-the-cortana-button-for-windows-10-this-is-big/) has announced that Toshiba is adding a special key for Cortana to all their Windows laptops that come with Windows 10 preinstalled.
But I can't tell if the writer of the article is serious or sarcastic...

I wouldn't doubt it though ...

That guy's writing makes out hard to tell if he's being sarcastic about the news or if he's just a shill for Microsoft. Regardless, though, it sounds like the button is a real thing.

MS is pushing a cohesive Windows experience across all platforms and Cortana seems to be an integral part of it. So it wouldn't surprise me if they do a keyboard button, especially on laptops.

Ignore it like always.. Then get irritated when it royally screws up your DOS gaming experience by being positioned in the worst spot possible.

Cortana button doesn't sound like a bad idea.

But there is so much bloat on that website...

Apparently they are repurposing the F1 key (http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2015/06/back-to-school-hp-adds-usb-type-c-toshiba-goes-for-a-cortana-button/).
It has become common to put media keys functions on the function keys, and one or the other set available with the Fn key. Plus there is often a Fn-lock combo. (Thinkpads have it on Fn-Esc).

Well, Cortana on Windows Phone is pretty useful.
