Title: Help identifying some clicky switches
Post by: Blaise170 on Wed, 17 June 2015, 07:30:22
These things are MX clones but they have no identification whatsoever. The two I'm looking at are an MX Blue clone with a teal slider and an MX White clone with a translucent slider. They appear to be different companies. The teal has no marking on top and on the bottom has the diode symbol with a "V" in front of it. The clear one has a 22 on the back. I'm working on a switch tester, so it would be nice to know what is actually being tested. :)) Thanks for the help guys.

If the clear one is the third row down, second from the left, it appears to be an Aristotle clone.  Not sure of the blue one, but inside of the housing shots always help.

Yeah I think you are right. I got the inclination to google Gaote and the Gaotes match up with the unbranded clones so I think that's what it is. Interestingly, they are said to have made Noppoo's switches as well, yet the Noppoo slider is more of a true blue where the Gaote is a teal color. Even more interesting is that Gaote and Outemu are thought to be the same company, yet have branded and unbranded switches.

Yeah, the "clear" one is Aristotle. Shape of the housing matches; they also have a glossy housing instead of Cherry's matte plastic. Last indicator would be the rounded rectangle where a logo would normally be.

The Blue switch is an Outemu/Gaote switch as it has the same housing.

BTW, it would have been easier if your images were showing only the switches you are referring to, and not your whole collection.

Yeah, the switch with white slider and glossy black slider with a rectangle instead of a brand label is a Aristotle. Somewhat more tactile and clicky than Cherry MX but the sliders are not interchangeable. Supposedly, the housings break more easily than on other clones.

Yeah I realized that after the fact but too late now lol.

The Blue switch is an Outemu/Gaote switch as it has the same housing.

Okay thanks a ton!  :thumb:
