Title: What about an ongoing thread for trading individual keycaps? (non-artisans)
Post by: Acerk on Fri, 19 June 2015, 14:02:54
I wanted to pitch an idea and find out whether it is of interest:

I think that it could be a valuable addition to the classifieds to have a thread where users trade individual or small groups of keycaps. If you have keycaps you don't use, you can trade them for some keycaps that would spice up your keyboard. That way, you don't have to buy full sets if you're only interested in using a few keycaps. I imagine I'm not the only user here that have keycaps I don't use.

My idea was that you'd have an ongoing thread where users post what they want to trade. Then, you can contact previous posters to see if they want to arrange a trade. Basically, each post would consist of:
*optional

Do you think a thread like this would be useful? I've asked a handful of people in person, and they weren't very enthusiastic about it. Mostly, they figured people wouldn't be interested in breaking up their sets.

Most people would just post a WTT thread in classifieds.

It's probably more likely/would remove more threads if you had one for artisans.

There was a HKP trading thread created a few months ago.  It started strong, but quickly faded away.  I have to agree with Rowdy, I don't think many people will use it like the OP is suggesting.
