Since there is a Starcraft 2 thread I figured a HOTS thread would be helpful to those who play. I never could get into DOTA or LoL, but I've been playing HOTS for about a week now and seems good for a new game.

You should get Awesomenauts , but only when it is on a massive sale . I rarely find anybody on the servers

I'm all about dat Heroes. Played since Alpha, I got in fairly early. I love the fact that the game gets rid of last hits, item shops, and 40 min plus matches and adds varied battlegrounds, talent system, 2 ults to choose from, and more. Plus I'm a fan of Blizz games (well except WoW....I wish I lived in a parallel where WoW was left to rot and WarCraft 3 was still getting expansions in 2015) so the characters are obviously a huge plus. People will sometimes look down on it for being casual, but it really just has a gentler skill curve than a lot of other mobas. It's much easier to get into, but still has a massive skill ceiling in upper levels of play. Pretty stoked for the Monk to release next week, and can't wait for the new starcraft characters we will be getting in a while.
Feel free to add me, my battletag is Clicky#1548 Be warned, I'm not very good, I just enjoy playing the game.

I just watched this video
It sums up the main differences between the Dota2/LOL vs HeroesOTS..
It seems like Heroes is superior in everyway in terms of FAST fun..
I've always found the Grinding portion of LOL and Dota tedious..

I know right? I didn't watch the video you posted, but another big change is no individual experience and levels. Your whole team shares one level. So you don't get people who are losing their minds and are totally full of themselves trying to carry the team and be the one to be rewarded with killing an enemy hero. In my experience the game is a little less toxic that LoL/dota, possibly since games are usually around 20 mins wrong so if you're losing you don't know you have another 40 minutes of that to look forward to. Other mobas certainly have their strengths, but Heroes just matches what I want out of the experience, personally. In any case, it's free to play, so it never hurts to check it out.

got to rank 1 then quit
how does that work... rank 1 in the WORLDzies ?
-
no rank1 is just the higher tier in HOTS.
apparently it's quite easy to reach for an experiment moba player.

the matchmaking system is ****ing **** right now. you literally just have to win more games than you lose. also getting matched with brand new players in ranked as a rank 1 is ****ing retarded I've had over 1000 mmr discrepancies in games, going in both ways. I'll be back when they fix that and nerf kt/jaina/zeratul ofc :P

has a massive skill ceiling in upper levels of play.
I legit lold
But, now that I've had a good laugh.. even though this is literally the most dumbed down and unbalanced version of an ARTS that will ever be available to play, it's still fun to beat up on people.
Hit me up on bnet fam

The main reason I think Heroes is a better experience, is cuz it uses elements to PROMOTE team play directly..
While LOL and DOta are also team games at the highest level..
That fact is not readily apparent to mid-level users.. and the low level users probably don't learn that until much later, IF they stick around..
So right away the heroes game is a friendly-atmosphere. whereas in Dota and LoL, most people are on their own little ego-trips...

I still play, Nathan#1845 Nova is def my fav.
