Is this the Cherry equivalent, or does it have different switches?

$39 shipped, not too bad. Maybe time to let go of mine.

This appears to be the same one Fentek sells for $140 here (http://www.fentek-ind.com/kbtpcusbb.htm). Maybe a good deal.

Hard to say.
I believe they've come with blacks and clears (rare).

Pity...it's such a nice complement to the Compaq 11800

I was thinking the same.

Both 'boards are PCB-mounted, so if you're feeling industrious, you can change out the guts of the switches with another Cherry 'board. Hell, you could probably take out the whole PCB out of one and put it in the other.

I've got one of these! It dates to about '00. The escape key stopped working and I haven't bothered to figure out why just yet. I was considering just swapping the keyswitch with one of the function keys, but if it's as easy to fix as you guys make it sound then maybe I'll do that instead.
