Title: Difference between GON or Winkeyless
Post by: last100yen2 on Tue, 07 July 2015, 15:10:04
I blame Geekhack for getting me into Keyboard habbit....its been great!

Anyways I have tried several keyboard this past few months and now I want to try custom Korean Keyboard

I found out that GON or Winkeyless are very popular around here

I just want to know what are some difference between these vendors.

Only difference I see is that GON offers metal plates on top and bottom (Which I really like and want this)

Winkeyless is little cheaper than GON which I like lol

Any information would be great

I don't have either of them but from what I've seen from the websites

1. I like GON cases a whole lot better than Winkeyless cases
2. GON website seems more English friendly for us English speaking folk, he also seems to be active on this forum
3. Winkeyless lets you specify what parts you want pre-soldered, but GON keyboards seems like you have to do all or nothing pre-soldered.

You'll probably get a winkeyless faster than a Gon.

Winkeyless for a small fee can give you a plate which allows to remove the top of the switch without desoldering.

The cases are very different.

The Gui to map the keys is very very very very easier to use on a GON.

GON is currently overloaded with orders so his turnaround time is slow.

I dealt with GON because he was overloaded so he was answering very quickly on his skype, not anymore apparently.
Winkeyless answer very quickly on his mail too.

But apparently GON is getting an employee to help him out.
