Title: Gaterons with Cherry Stems
Post by: Blackehart on Fri, 10 July 2015, 11:06:36
I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to use, so feel free to move it if it isn't.
(I couldn't find a gateron thread with this info, so here goes)

Has anyone tried using cherry stems in a gateron switch?

I have some gateron browns and some 78g gold sprit springs.
It feels nice BUT the tactility is a lil on the small side.
I was going to try to acquire some clears or some greys but I THINK i read somewhere on the forums that the stems are slightly different and may cause typing errors?
Is this true?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I have verified that the stems are interchangeable between Cherry MX and Gateron KS-3.

I have not tried typing on a few hooked up (yet) but I plan to put "Clear" stems in a keyboard of Gateron switches later on.

Every part of both switches except for the leaf is compatible with the other

I'm actually glad I saw this.
I put some clear stems in gateron switches and have sen some issues.

I can put a slight bit of weight on any key (fingers are resting) and it says I've pressed it.

These are mean to be ergo clears with 62g gold springs so not sure what the issue is.

Are my hands just fat and heavy?
