Title: Q: mod to add space bar stabilizer

hi all :)

i'm planning to swap an ibm model m space bar into a model f, in order to uncover 2 capacitive pads underneath so i can add more keys to the bottom row -- so i need to add two stabilizers for the new space bar, on the top plate (like in the model m).

any ideas on an easy approach?

the model f top plate is made of steel :) and the model f's own stabilizers for Enter and the number pad are plastic and seem to be injection riveted through holes in the top plate.

I have no idea how to do that, but I do know that you can alter the resistance of the space bar by opening the keyboard assembly and bending the extra stabilizing spring.

I have another model F on the way, maybe I can measure how much it differs from my current model F XT. When I modded that one, I forgot to measure the force it took before the change.
