So, I just figured this out.. Also thoroughly tested it.
25% less water by weight, testing 2 towels.
If Squeegee after a shower.. it's like on a car window, but on yourself, using your hands..
I've found that it dramatically reduces the hydro-load of the towel..
Reduced drying time, means less bacterial buildup on the towel..
technique Also works on hair.

I had probably mentioned it before, but today is the first time I actually un-lazied.. and weighted two identical new towels.
Also, I guess it's cuz I bought 2 identical new towels.. (http://www.cute-factor.com/images/smilies/onion/th_053_XD.gif)

So you showered twice just to test your hypothesis?

I started doing this while living in Cancun. The place is so hot that if you go to the beach, you can forget to bring a towel. Just run your hands over your skin and let the sun do the rest. In less than 5 mins you are dry. I started doing the same thing after showering and just kept doing it till present day. Makes drying way quicker.

No, I just re-wet after I weighted the first towel. (http://www.cute-factor.com/images/smilies/onion/70bff581.gif)

Been doing this since I was a teenager. I don't bother squeegeeing my legs, though. I just sort of kick them to fling the water off. Works pretty well.
The other thing I do, to save time, is I only mostly dry off when getting out of the shower. Then I wrap my towel around my waist and shave. Usually I air dry the rest of the way while I'm shaving.
