I saw somewhere that 390x's are rebranded 290x's but w/double vRAM. The 390 is probably a lot better if you're playing Crysis or something like that, I'm sure there are overall improvements but not *terribly* significant.

If that's the only difference, then that only really affects people using pointless resolutions. Personally I'd rather see refresh rates/fps be a focus/be increased than just jumping up in resolution for no real reason.
