Just plug it in.  Weird translations though.  SHF-F1 for F13?

They may not be talking about that keyboard, the PC/5250. Those translations are specifically for IBM's Client Access/400 software. Many terminal programs will work with a Host Connected Keyboard, which is what their "ordinary" 122-key Terminal Emulator keyboard works like.

Is that for native use with your Windows box or tn3270 to an IBM host?

windows box, my problem was that i was trying to use a USB adapter instead of using the PS2 adapter.  this terminal keyboard will not work through a USB port on a windows machine but will work with a PS2 port.  my bad.......
