Title: Help me identify a computer accessory from a picture
Post by: Acerk on Thu, 30 July 2015, 06:59:05
Browsing kbdlab.co.kr I came across this (http://kbdlab.co.kr/index.php?mid=board_pKsj18&document_srl=2749286) in the gallery section. I've never seen anything like it. What do you call the "mat" with side leds?

Thanks  ;)

That could be. Wouldn't put it past them. I was thinking maybe it was a large mouse pad also functioning as a docking station; with a memory card reader, usb hub etc. I have never seen anything like it, though.

From what I've seen, the Koreans do a lot with acrylic, so I'd imagine one of them just came up with an idea like "get a milk acrylic and plant some led under it" and ran with it.
I think it's just this with a large mousemat/piece of material on top.

If you're just after the glow effect

you can just wire up some leds yourself

and put them in the hole drilled underneath..

But as Demik has mentioned,  this is a fluff situation... not terribly useful.. hahahahah

Like,, think about it,   if you bring a girl to this room..  she's NOT going to be impressed..  in fact, she'd probably walk the other way, cuz you clearly got too many video games to play instead of focusing on any part of a Relationship..

On the other hand..  If you bring a GHer to such a room...  we would be very impressed.. but alas, we can not sexy you..

Haha, totally. That's what I think when I visit the What did you get in the mail today? thread. A lot of manchild stuff like comic book- and anime figures.

What do you buy that helps you with the ladies? Please enlighten us. I imagine your desk is filled with Ikea catalogues, bills, and lube to show you're a responsible adult.

What is the opposite of "manchild" stuff?

If you don't have one of the three, what exactly are you doing with your life? I ask myself that everyday.

I don't buy or have anything to help me with the ladies. So many potential jokes running through my head right now, but I will refrain from it.

The opposite of manchild stuff would be something of practical utility that will help us accomplish worthwhile stuff. By that I mean things we're going to be happy about on our deathbeds. On the other hand, no one is going to remember all the toys and distractions we purchased throughout our lives.

I think of manchildren as people who live day to day, refusing to accept the notion that they will die some day.

Um....

There's nothing you can put on your HOME DESK to impress the ladies..

But if we extend it to "something you can buy"    I would say.. hair cuts/styles..  and working out(which costs uber money and time)

Hair is super important...

A waste of money
if youre satisfied with what youre wasting it on it wasnt wasted

Frivolous spending does not constitute necessity, thus is wasteful, regardless of satisfaction.
hey wanna go down the rabbit hole of necessity and end it with "cap yourself in the head" or "live on the street"
if you can afford (and have enough left over to pay rent, taxes, food etc, im not saying buy a porsche and go bankrupt) to spend lots of cash i say you shouldnt give a **** what cynicools tell you as long as you know what youre doing
