Finally!
Sorry about the delay in scheduling this meetup. I've been waiting for over a month for some work-related travel (unfortunately not for keyboards :-[ ) to be confirmed.
The next meetup will be on
August 22nd 2015 @ 1 PM
Massdrop HQ
100 Bush Street, Suite 1000
San Francisco, CA 94104
BART is the most convenient way to get to Massdrop. It's a short 3 minute walk from Montgomery St. Station. 10th story. Just tell the guard you're with the Massdrop keyboard meetup. Parking...well, good luck, it's SF.
There will be free food, and free keyboard swag (courtesy of Massdrop and their distributors).
Please RSVP so we have an idea of numbers for food (and if you have dietary restrictions).
RSVP (https://ti.to/kiibohd/kiibohd-15-august-2015)
You'll also be added to the Kiibohd Meetup mailing list :thumb:
(GeekHack mod, please sticky this topic and un-sticky the old meetup thread)

Will be coming to this one!

I can't wait to see your hhkb! ;)

Hype!
I'll probably bring my Kinesis now that it works and people can actually feel what typing on it is like, and probably my Infinity. Bertha is too big and heavy to bring on BART, rofl.
-
It seems I actually might be able to make this one, but I won't RSVP until later when I can confirm one way or another.
Looking at transportation, once I'm at the Fairfield bus station it's just 85 to Vallejo and I can catch the Vallejo ferry which drops off about 20 minutes walking from the Massdrop HQ.

One of these months I will not have family plans on the same weekend. Maybe next month.
-
I will be fashionably late since I have an appointment, or perhaps early and only stay for a bit, we'll see. I'd like to come back out and hang out if people are going to get beers or dinner after.
-
Really excited to check this out!! Fingers crossed that someone will bring boards with topre and mx black switches for me to feel up :]
I could use a little convincing before snagging my 4th and 5th board
-
Alright, officially not going to make it. No way to get to the bus needed to get down there or cover next week buses if I did.

Aww. :(
I'm going to be late, bah. Traffic was a mess and I'm only at Fruitvale on BART.

I'm on BART. yeaaaaah :llama:

How was it? I was really heartbroken to miss it.

The meetup was amazing - somewhere around 30 people showed up! About 10-15 of us got there early and stood around in the elevator landing area while we waited for someone to answer the door. Once we were in, they had us pile into the board room where Matt from Massdrop and HaaTa began busting out archaic and modern keyboards alike. Several people brought their own including Poker II, GON, HHKB, Infinity 60%, and more. About the only thing that didn't show up was a Leopold 660C. They also fed us pizza!
I've got a whole album on imgur to share with you all, but here are a couple of teaser pics.

Here's the link to the full album (http://imgur.com/a/bSege)!
A couple keyboards I forgot to photograph because I had to run before it was all over. There was one in a handmade wooden carrying case, and it looked beautiful. The one with the Yin-Yang backspace near the end of the album looked really impressive when backlit. Big thanks to Massdrop and HaaTa for making the event happen. I had a blast.

It was so cool to see so many new faces, I seriously didn't recognize half of you! :))
-
i just barely made it in via facetime before my phone died :)) next time for sure!!!
-
I made the total noob mistake of not getting anyone's names! All I know is I met Kunal, Matt, and Rowan from Massdrop. I spoke to a ton of people but forgot to introduce myself formally. Next time!

Any estimate on the next meetup?
-
Would like to know this as well. Missed it even though I live here -_-
-
So, I've made the inquiry about doing the next one at GitHub. Still trying to work out exactly when it will be.
I'll be in NZ biking all of November, so it won't be then :P
-
Not sure if I should vote October 24th in or out as a date, that's my birthday. :P

Humble brag.
-
Would love to come out to one of these. GitHub would be amazing.
Edit: If the above doesn't pan out, we have plenty of room to host here at Entelo.
-
Are there any plans for another meetup? I work in a large office in SF (SOMA) where we could host this. If you are an organizer, please ping me for details.

Haata usually is in charge of these but he has been super busy lately with work and other things so we haven't had one of these in a couple months. There is a r/mk meet up on Jan 9th though. Not sure if it will be the same kind of crowd that comes to these meets.
-
I was talking to HaaTa on IRC the other day and he mentioned that he was working on one for after CES.
-
Is this still happening? I might be able to make it.
-
Yep, a location is in the works. Still need to confirm the date.
Once it's all ready I'll do the usual announcements and send an email to the mailing list.
