Title: Wanting to build a rubber dome kb
Post by: Jerakl on Fri, 31 July 2015, 22:58:30
So I had, with the help of some users on the IRC or w/e gotten a parts list for a Gateron black tkl.

Now, for trouble shooting on PCs I bought a cheap generic kb + mouse combo.

I fell in love with the kb.

I'll link it here:
http://www.logitech.com/en-ca/product/k120

I'm wondering if it would be possible to build something like this in TKL with backlights.

Thanks!

Am I a bad person for having this thread open in another tab waiting for a response like this?

No, I knew it was going to happen.
I too wanted to see how stupid the first one would be.

you ask a stupid question u get a stupid answer

Getting a tkl with blacks would give you something similar. Less hassle and less money spent.

I got this thing:

http://www.logitech.com/en-ca/product/tablet-keyboard-android-win8-rt?crid=26

Wireless bluetooth 10-keyless Logitech keyboard.
It's not too bad, and I use it with my tablet most of the time.

You can try it out at any retailer that sells them I suppose.

Its stupid for someone to have a preference that isnt popular and ask questions about it?  As far as I know, I dont think ive ever come across a TKL rubber dome board with backlighting.  What does it matter to you if the OP actually likes cheap switches?

Maybe because the question isn't about the switches but about how the keyboard is made?

it's just that with a little bit of research you can discover that it's impractical

Well then I think you just answered his question...

A membrane rubber dome keyboard would be significantly harder to build than a mechanical keyboard.
You also never explained the specifics as to why you want to make a rubber dome keyboard. You just said that you liked a keyboard.
That doesn't give us enough information to even think of giving you proper suggestions.
