Title: LCD vs LED
Post by: tp4tissue on Sat, 01 August 2015, 18:20:37
So..  I've been wondering this for a long time..

Does the LCD matrix (infront of the LED) use more electricity or does the LED backlit (behind the LCD matrix) use more electricity..

This is discussing led panels, only,  obviously a CCFL panel would mean the backlit use most of the power.

Any geeks got the answer to this?

NM

I figured it out..

Black screen (LCD fully blocking-uses most power) 11.4watt    vs    White screen (LCD fully open)  12.2watt

So, it seems that the difference is pretty insignificant

ALTHOUGH,  I can not be sure that the screen doesn't have some sort of AUTOmatic auto-dimming feature..

Which is probably what's happening here.
