Hi everyone,
I recently got a poker II with a missing mini usb socket. I attempted to solder a new mini usb socket onto the pcb, however 1 of the 5 'leads' on the pcb where the mini usb connects isn't really taking any solder. I used plenty of flux and was able to connect the other 4, however the 5th line (I have no idea what to call this) just isn't taking any solder. Any help or advice you can give me would be super appreciated! Here's a picture of the pcb in it's current state with lots of flux applied.

Unsolder, clean all that **** up and see if the solder pad for the lead you are having trouble with is still intact. If it's come of, find the the corresponding trace and try to expose it using a suitable tool. Create a bridge from the lead to that point using solder or a piece of wire without shorting anything. Did the switch on the top right side melt because you touched with the iron, or because you heated the solder joint for to long? If it is the latter you need be quicker with the soldering.

Which way up does the connector go? Pin 4 isn't used in mini USB so if the big side sits on the PCB I think you're good with just the 4 connected. If I've got that wrong and it's actually pin 2 that's missing it just won't work as USB uses the two end pins for power and the middle two for data, so don't be scared to try it.
I'm looking for a cleaner pic to confirm :)

Looks like D- signal line is messed and its solder pad completely comes off.
I think you can connect D- pin of the connector to R84 with thin wire like 0.2-0.3mm.

Yes that's exactly it. Thanks a bunch hasu! I wasn't sure if the line went to R84 or R83, so this is great to know. Was going to borrow a friend's multimeter to test it out, but now all I need is some thin wire. I'll let you know how it goes!

Ok, I *think* I was able to run a thin wire from the D- lead to the R84 resistor. Plugged in the keyboard to my Mac and the caps lock led lit up briefly, however none of the keys register. Anyone have suggestions? I'll keep googling on my end . . .
