Hey guys,
long time lurker from Paris.
Since i work as a unix sysadmin/coder well you can't do without a great keyboard. And since everytime i had a question regarding keyboard i would fall on a GH post... well might as well hop in!
Bought my first mecanical keyboard in 2011. A Filco Majestouch, tenkeyless, click, usa that will be in the classified soon since i've used it less then 4 month. Still a great keyboard but my coworkers would not agree with it :)
Moved on to hhkb type-s as my main weapon at work that i just LOVE!!!
Hope my wallet wont be too pissed about joining GH!

You will only find more things you want and can't afford. But hope you enjoy it just the same :D

edit: apparently you already fall into the ANSI trap, rip.

Welcome to Geekhack!
The Filco would have been a good solid board that would last you for years, except for your co-workers :(
I am in a similar situation, having gone to some trouble to acquire an SSK, and then someone complained about it, so I have retreated to MX blacks (for now).
At least with the HHKB you shouldn't have any problems using it under Unix - if you can't get accustomed to the function layer you can still use ctrl sequences to do most of your navigation (^A beginning of line, ^D delete char etc.).

I'm a Canadian living in Paris so using another layout has never been an issue :D :D :D
Thanks all for the warm welcome!
The filco is a solid board and would have been great but still i love my hhkb more now since i'm an oldi and used Sun keyboards (with ctrl in the right spot) back in the days.
