Hey guys! I just got my first mechanical keyboard in the mail today, a filco majestouch convertible 2 and I'm loving it. I'm looking for good pbt keycaps with the media controls printed on them and so far I've only found the varmilo front printed caps which I just missed on massdrop. The only problem is media symbols are on different keys. Can I reprogram the filco through some software just to move that around?

Reprogramming isn't possible. I don't think AutoHotKey will work either, since the function layer won't be recognized.
If you are interested in programmability, the Kitten Paw Controller from bpiphany might do the job, but I don't know for certain.
He's selling them in his classifieds ad (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=46700.0)
EDIT:
You can do a workaround via AutoHotKey though. You would just be unable to access the media controls via the fn layer. Instead, maybe App+ F# or however you like.

Hmm. I'd rather not have to solder anything on the new keyboard. All I literally want to move is the vol+, vol-, and mute buttons over to a different set of keys when I push fn.
I'll look into the autohoykey, or I might just put volume controls on my mouse and call it a day

I believe there's no soldering involved for this.

like azhdar said, there's no soldering required if you choose the controller route (assuming the controller is compatible). You simply pop off the stock controller and push the new one in.
the alternative solutions are clearly much more convenient, and for what you're looking for, they are definitely enough. i actually picked up a frosty flake controller recently for my qfr because i wanted full customizability, and it's been treating me amazingly. i'll be forever grateful to bpiphany for his work.

If its that easy then I'll definitely be getting one. Sorry I'm so new to all of this, but how would you program it once you have the new controller?
Edit: nvm figured it out

Good luck!
