Title: CM Storm Quick Fire TK: problem with Yosemite
Post by: Alfatastiera on Fri, 07 August 2015, 13:19:20
I can not restart in with commands for mac os!

Command R (recovery) ...

Command Option + P + R ...

Anything!

It does not recognize the specific commands for mac to use at startup.

Probably due to the n-key rollover over USB. While Macs technically support it, the feature is not well implemented and can cause problems just like the one you're describing.

If you want to keep the TK, I would suggest purchasing a second-hand official Apple keyboard to keep on standby for when you need to access the recovery console or other utilities outside of OS X. Your other option, and the one I personally would pick, is to get rid of that keyboard all together and purchase something that's more Mac friendly (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=63028.0).

I've understand... but I've read here:

Mac User  jamdox tells: "  It has 95% of the functionality"...

this the 0,5%....?

I like this keyboard, it's perfect in my furnishing... Pity for this problem.

How is the keyboard connected to the mac? Direct input to USB? Do you have another keyboard you can use to see if you've got issues with it as well?

One thing you could try that might be less expensive than a new or second keyboard is to connect the TK to a standard USB to PS2 adapter, then connect that to an active PS2 to USB adapter (http://www.amazon.com/SANOXY-PS2-Keyboard-USB-Adapter/dp/B000BSJFJS/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1438976917&sr=8-8&keywords=ps2+to+usb).

It's not a great problem (it's fixed with with a keyboard reserve) but I'm surprised because I've had many chip Microsoft keyboards and the Apple's keyboard commands for starting work correctly...
