Since this build isn't for me, I'm not going to Delid this..
But I honestly think (if I did) it might be capable of 4.9 maybe 5 @ 1.35v
It has passed 16 hours -Aida.stressFPU- @ 4.8ghz, 1.3 volt

LOL..
Nothing is installed,
Basically, I'm familiar enuff with overclocking, that I can push the system to 4.4ghz stable before installing the OS..
Then I install the OS, and start FULL Overclocking right away..
No network drivers, no video drivers, nothing. no internets.

I can figure out overclocking. I have a liquid cooled 4690K and im just lost. I tried clock it to 4.4 and it seemed unstable (crashing in CS:GO)

Here's what you need to do.

Remember, nearly ALL of those values have to be set manually to achieve a high overclock.
The guide is for a gigabyte bios, SO....
Not all of the settings will be under the same name in the MSI bios, but post about any you don't understand, And I will decipher it for you..
But overall, you can't just set the multiplier and expect it to work.
Even if it works a bit, you may be OVERvolting, for example, most AUTO - Overclocking done by the motherboard without user input tends to Overvolt by 0.2volts.
Which means if you try an auto overclock of 4.8ghz, you might be pumping 1.4-1.45v into the chip
That is very bad, and you will never be able to stability test it, because it'd run way too hot to pass testing,

I hadnt seen that guide before, so ill definitely take a look!
The weirdest thing for me was, i would run stress tests and things generally looked fine, but when i would play like CS:GO i would get random craashes, that doesnt happen with it turned off.

You need to stress test for more than a few hours.. it has to pass overnight.

Finalized the Overclock today..

Such a shame this chip won't be delidded... I'm almost certain it's a 49er.

Delid it! /evil
I love my delided 4770k, but than I moved to 6 cores

I'm not going to 6core any time soon
I mean.. I have my 4cpu 24core server.. but for a desktop.. i won't need more than 4.
